This varies a lot dependant upon the class in which the car runs. It can be anything from leaf springs through to ‘coil-overs’.

In the Austin 7 classes, brakes are restricted to the Austin 7 drums. In the other classes, the use of disc brakes is not permitted unless part of the original design

Transmission (section 5.9)

Classes A & B must use the standard A7 casing; alternative ratios may be fitted, either 3-speed or 4-speed, plus reverse.

Tyres (Section 5.13)

Class A restricts width and profile; classes B & C permit the use of treaded racing tyres or ‘cut’ slicks. Many of the 1172 cars use the Dunlop Formula Vee tyre.
