Vehicle
Type
The MR2 Championship is open to all normally aspirated versions of the Toyota MR2. Due to the inherent sporty nature of this mid-engined rear wheel drive car very little modification is required to turn it into an entertaining racer. Modifications to the cars are therefore limited to ensure close competitive racing at an affordable budget. Both UK and Japanese import models are permitted.
Class A: Mk1 MR2
Class B: Mk2 MR2
Class C: Mk3 MR2 (MR2 Roadster / MR-S)
Engine
Engines may only be prepared within the specifications laid down in Toyota's workshop manual. All engine internals must be standard or standard pattern parts and the factory ECU must be retained. Induction and exhaust systems are free (excluding manifolds).
Class A: 1.6l 4AGE 122BHP
Class B: 2.0l 3SGE 158BHP / 172BHP
Class C: 1.8l 1ZZFE 138BHP
Suspension
Suspension is free but may not be adjustable, with the exception of anti-roll bars. Uprated dampers, lowered springs and polyuerathane bushes may be used.
Brakes
Brake disks must remain standard or standard pattern while brake pad material is free. Braided brake hoses may be used and ABS systems where fitted as standard may be retained.
Transmission
Standard gearbox, gear ratios and final drive must be retained. Factory limited slip differentials may only be used on class C cars as these were standard equipment. No other clas may use an LSD.
Wheels
Wheels must be standard diameter, width and offset for each class of vehicle:
Class A: 5.5” x 14” or 6” x 14”.
Class B: 6” x 15” front; 7” x 15” rear. (14” rims not permitted).
Class C: 6” x 15” front; 6.5” x 15” rear. (16” rims not permitted).

Tyres
Control tyres are Toyo R888 in original equipment sizes (or nearest alternative) and must be purchased from a designated supplier. Tyres are offered to competitors at a heavily discounted rate
Minimum Weight
Minimum weights including driver are as follows:
Class A: 1000 kgs
Class B: 1200 kgs (172bhp engine)
1180 kgs (158 bhp engine)
Class C: 1000 kgs
Rounds
There will be 14 rounds in the seasan at various UK circuits, see the race schedule for details of dates.
Costs
Registration fee for the season is £100.
750 Motor Club membership for 12 months is £50 including a joining fee of £5.
