Swift Sport Challenge

Overview

Suitable for new or experienced racers alike from age 16 upwards, the Swift Sport Challenge introduces 750 Motor Club’s next generation of cost and build control, to offer a close, affordable and uniquely approachable circuit racing experience, as part of the 85-year old club’s continual drive to maintain low-cost competition in an ever more challenging economic climate.

Innovation & Cost Control

Various new concepts in the championship aim to reduce the ‘cost to be competitive’. Regulations offer a financial reward for road-going cars (via £50 credit per entry fee), incentivise marshalling days (extra championship points), disincentivise spending on pre-race test days (via removing lap times in qualifying), and remove the ability to use costly performance-enhancing data logging equipment.

Pre-qualifying warm-up sessions are generally included and as with various other 750MC formulae, drivers will have limited quantity control tyres and fixed geometry limits, alongside standard engines that will be sealed after power checks, and ballasted as appropriate to discourage costly engine rebuilds.

Geometry setups from frontrunning Swifts are shared publicly to reduce the costly advantage gained by significant testing, and for 2025 750MC will provide an event mechanic and carry stock of spare control parts.

Suitability & Entries

Open to new or experienced racers looking for the best possible value on track; there is a separate Novice class, whilst a ‘Team Challenge’ element will allow two drivers to share the cost of the car and alternate race weekends across the season.

Technical

Based around the 2006-2010/11 (‘Mk1’) 1.6 VVT Suzuki Swift Sport, the concise control parts list includes a multi-point bolt-in roll cage and seat rail kit from Safety Devices designed specifically for the Swift Sport Challenge. Suspension is via a sealed YellowSpeed Racing kit and the cars run heavy-duty 15in Speedline wheels with a road-legal and quantity-controlled Davanti Protoura Race tyre.

All modifications are strictly limited to allow for a quick turnaround of cars, with an identical specification even for minor parts to ensure ease of support and spares at events. Driver choice will be limited to little more than steering wheel, seat and brake pads, whilst the remaining components will be available as part of a comprehensive DIY Build Kit.
