Peugeot 106 1.6 XSi Race Car
Raced mostly recently in CSCC TinTops (Class F - 1.6 8v), but could easily run in numerous other race series. It would particularly suit 750MC Hot Hatch, 750MC Enduro Cup, or Stock Hatch (with some mods removed). It could also run in MSV Trackday Trophy, Tricolore Trophy to name a few other options.
Bodywork is very tidy (especially for a race car!)
Multi-point welded in Roll Cage, including full door crosses, and forward suspension connections
New 5 point TRS FIA harness (2022 dated)
New for 2018 MSA compliant fire-extinguisher
4 x Race wheels with Toyo R888r tyres (two or three of races left in them)
4 x Spare wheels with Toyo Wet Tyres (only raced once, so barely run-in)
Engine is ~135bhp - spec includes motorbike throttle bodies with 180deg bell-mouths, modified head, race cam, pocketed pistons, 4:1 tubual exhaust manifold & stainless single box system
Single way adjustable (combined bump/rebound) front dampers
Fixed (non-adjustable) Race rear dampers
Lowered torsion bars & front springs
Fully re-furbished brakes, includes calipers re-furb & powder coated
Recent new front discs & EBC yellow-stuff pads (brakes are really good!!)
Adjustable brake-bias
Rear drums stripped inspected & re-built start of season
Converted to Wheel Studs
Poly-Carb Windows all round (except windscreen)
Removable Steering Wheel
Custom Alloy Fuel Tank with Baffles & Central pick-up - big enough to run for ~1 hours racing
Lots & lots of spares, including spare cylinder head, bumper, lights, lots of part-worn tyres (if you want!) & a pair of brand-new driveshafts
Engine has been rock-solid since I've owned it, and hasn't missed a beat (just grumbles a bit when stone cold, like a proper race engine!!)
Short Shifter
Gearbox is whine free. 2nd gear syncro is getting a bit tired now, but still slots in every time
Now I know the car, the only non-standard service item I've found is the drive-shafts - the outer CV's need re-greasing (or the drive-shafts replacing) every 3 or 4 race weekends - these are actually very cheap ( J&R trading on E-bay are ~£35/side) and I've got two brand new ones ready to go on the car
This car has been an amazing way to start out my circuit racing journey - it handles & stops really well. Engine pulls well, as the car is very light (~765kg).
Alot of laptime could be had with the addition of a Quaife (or similar) locking diff, but I decided to move classes with a new car instead. Actually really missing driving this little car, particularly as it is sooo nimble.
Sure there's lots of other great things I could write, but feel free to ask anything you think I might have missed - happy for you to txt me if you have any questions; I won't be able to take calls when I'm at work during the day.
