750 Motor Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Dallas Smith. Dallas worked with many different clubs over numerous years as a Safety, Eligibility Scrutineer and later Chief Scrutineer, whilst doing all this he has assisted many scrutineers past and present with their practical training. Along with others, he helped develop systems, procedures and documentation that variants of are still used today by many Scrutineering Teams today.

 

Dallas was a character and will be sadly missed by so many in both the 750MC paddock, and wider motorsport world. Most who knew him will have their own stories and anecdotes. He could be a hard task master, but always liked to be involved in the practical day-to-day work of scrutineering. Even in his later years he would still be as industrious as many of the younger scrutineers.

 

Our thoughts go out to his family at this time. The funeral will take place at Lea Fields Crematorium (Gainsborough, Lincolnshire) on Friday 12th January 2023 at 11:30am. Donations and full information can be found via the link below:
