Sport Specials

Thu 08 Mar 2012

The 750 Motor Club Championship for kit cars has existed for many years, last year the club took the decision to rewrite the regulations to widen the scope of potential competitors, principally to enable owners of Westfield’s and Tigers to have a competitive Championship in which to race their cars.
To help prove the thinking, the last race of the 2011 Championship was run with several ‘guest’ drivers and cars and it was good to find that they fitted in well with our existing competitors, consequently over the winter the regulations were drafted to ‘open’ up the Championship to more constructors and the Championship was renamed Sport Specials.
Yokohama has been the traditional tyre supplier for the Kit Car championship and they have signed up to continue their support of the newly named Sport Specials Championship,  and with the expectation of the newcomers switching to these tyres a “Polley Voucher” scheme is being launched.
These vouchers will be issued in prize draws throughout the season and can be redeemed at any time with George Polley Motorsport against purchases of Yokohama tyres. The 750MC has launched this competitor incentive as part of a package of measures to promote the friendly atmosphere in our paddocks and to bring competitors together socially, whilst continuing to provide affordable racing.
In 2012 the Sport Specials Championship will visit 7 different circuits, including Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Anglesey, Snetterton and Mallory Park many of these race meetings will be double headers, offering top value for money racing.
