Type R Trophy Foundation Programme Hits the Track

Wed 07 Apr 2021

Launched in 2020 in association with title sponsor and build partner Tegiwa, the 750MC's Type R Trophy Foundation Programme hit the track for the first time last weekend, at the Club's pre-season Silverstone trackday.

The full allocation of 15 all-inclusive packages were filled and the cars were built via established Honda race teams Area Motorsport, DH Racing and Motion Motorsport. Of the newcomers, one third of the places were taken by novice racers, whilst almost all drivers are new to 750 Motor Club and feature an age range spread of more than 40 years.

Having been granted Motorsport UK championship status for 2021, the Tegiwa Type R Trophy Championship season is set to be contested across 12 races and six venues, with the first double-header at Silverstone National on 23rd April - where a total of 29 Type R Trophy cars are already entered and set to make for a thrilling season opener for the single-class, one-make Honda formula.
